Inherited Patterns is a project that explores memory, attachment, emotional inheritance, and the ways childhood stays with us. By combining childhood photographs with embroidery, Arabela Espinaoza revisit the survival mechanisms that develop in early life and the patterns we unconsciously carry forward into adulthood. Originally presented as a one-night exhibition, Inherited Patterns continues to evolve through its presentation at PowerHouse as part of their artist-in-residency program. This new iteration gives Espinoza an opportunity to revisit the work through a different space and context, particularly alongside conversations around memory, remembrance, and loss.
Opening reception + Artist Talk is free and open to all.
