I Am / We Are: Soundtrack of Self is an interactive poetry writing workshop that invites participants to explore identity through memory and music.

City of San José Creative Ambassador Tricia Creason-Valencia designed the poetry writing workshop to focus on songs & music that have shaped our lives. In collaboration with DJ and Cultural Creator Dulce Fernandez, participants will identify songs that feel like home then Mas Dulce Soul will spin their songs, creating a soundtrack for their “I Am” poetry.

The spirit of this event is informal poetry reading combined with celebratory collective performance!

This FREE workshop is part of the City of San José’s Creative Ambassador program and is presented in collaboration with the “Reels and Records” exhibition at Local Color’s Noble Gallery.
